What is the Order of the North Star?

After my grandmothers death, I found out that she was part of something called the Order of the North Star. All the members placed differant colored roses on her body in a procession. I know (well, I think) that it is a Christian order, because they talked about the North Star which led the Wise Men to Bethlehem...can anyone give me anymore information on this or tell me where to find out more? Oh, I also know that the order is something you can only join if you're invited.

I couldn't locate it on Google, so I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

What is the Order of the North Star?
There are different girls' and women's organizations that have symbolic names like that. They are character-building community organizations. A common one is the Order of the Eastern Star, and it's girls' group, the Order of Rainbow for Girls. Job's Daughters is another one. It is generally associated with Freemasons in the United States. Other groups, like the Oddfellows have a women's group called the Rebekahs. I've never heard of an organization called the Order of the North Star, but it sounds like one of those. My grandmother was in the Eastern Star.

Reply:It is the female branch of a masonic order. My feeling is that it is NOT a "Christian" order, but they pretend it is at the lower levels.

Reply:Sounds like it has something to do with The Freemasons
Reply:See below, perhaps?
