What do you think the star of Bethlehem was?

according to some modern day astrologists the "star" of Bethlehem was the planet Jupiter and it would have appear in The sky at the time of Jesus' birth on April 17th.

What do you think the star of Bethlehem was?
there are many who say that it was the planet Venus which according to charts was very visible at the time but I prefer to think that it was a brand new star created by God to mark the birth of His Son.
Reply:The famous singer.
Reply:Asronomers has proved it was one of our planets, mars or venus I think.
Reply:Some say a UFO, but that doesn't mean it was alien...it could've been from a previous advanced civilization on earth years ago. Or it could have been a star or angel or even a planet.
Reply:... a star?
Reply:Err, a bloody good story line?
Reply:I think there were two of them.

The first was the conjunction that took place in March of 4 BC.

Then there was the flying saucer that hovered over the inn.
Reply:Either a bright star, or an Angel
Reply:The beacon that God set in the sky to guide the wise men to the Holy Child's birthplace.
Reply:star
Reply:Probably a comet. It did move in the sky. But maybe it was Mercury. Or Voyager caught in a time warp.
Reply:An anti-matter mining vessel from Planet H. (You Earthlings call it a UFO from Planet Heaven).
Reply:A star.... it's like a big ball of gas burning millions of miles away!! HA HA

PUMBA
Reply:There wasn't one. It was just a literary symbol. There was no such star in nature. Or it was just one of the many stars in the sky that the wise men (if any truth to this) followed for direction finding and was given greater significance through exaggeration in the retelling of the story. My best friend does this to all our shared stories. If the events in my life were half as significant as his narrative descriptions would have you believe, then, boy, did I have a good life.
Reply:I'm not so clear on this as I once was,but reasoning goes that star or whatever it was had more to do with Satin ,remember Herod had ordered all male 2 years and under babies to be put to death. Also these astrologers (star gazers) were not worshippers of the Father of Jesus.Next Joseph received a message to get outta there and flee into another country to save the boys life which he did promptly, and only coming back quite a bit later.
Reply:a supernova. an astonomical event
Reply:Haileys Comet was around then and features in a Nativity painting!
Reply:A.) Really a star

B.) A comet

C.) A UFO
