There is a bright shining light hovering over Chicago at night , Is this a satellite or a star? Please be spec

Every nite around the same time of nite there is a light that is the brightest light in the sky. Could it be the star of Bethlehem or a Satellite. It moves and sometimes can be seen during daylight hours. What is it?

It is most likely residual effects of that acid binge you went on two years ago.
Reply:You ask us to be specific, but you aren't specific.

Where in the sky (east, west, north, south, northeast...where) and at what time (10:00 pm, midnight, sunset...when).

If its in the west around sunset, its the planet Venus.

If its in the south in the early evening, its the planet Saturn.

In the southeast in the later evening, its the planet Jupiter.

If its moving, then its a satellite reflecting sunlight from orbit, but it wouldn't be visible for more than a few minutes (as the orbital angle changes).
Reply:It sounds like Venus and it'll be very bright and hanging around for another month or two
Reply:If it's early in the evening to the west, it is Venus. If it's latyer at night, coming up from the east, it's Jupiter. And if it was the star of Bethlehem, it would be shining over bethlehem, not Chicago.
Reply:I live in the suburbs of Chicago and Chicago is a very light polluted city. It must be pretty bright to be seen in daylight or nighttime. Actually I think the only thing you can see in daylight is a plane. But if you mean when the sun is almost down, it would be Venus. Its the brightest things in the sky and about the only thing visible in Chicago (except for maybe a few very bright stars or Jupiter but if its in the west its Venus). It'll be around for only a little bit longer I think a little over a month so just enjoy it. = ]
